Orchard Crawler Aerial Work Platform — Crawler Scissor Lift Vs Crawler Telescopic Boom Lift

Mountainous and muddy orchards have long been plagued by unsafe ladders and wheeled lifts getting stuck in soft ground. Fully electric crawler orchard aerial platforms, with outstanding off-road performance from rubber tracks, have become popular equipment for orchard mechanization upgrades globally. Our two core models, the STN-7500 crawler scissor lift and STN-6000 crawler telescopic boom lift, both adopt self-propelled crawler chassis with pure electric drive. However, they differ greatly in structural design and working capability. Combining the actual specifications of both products, this article analyzes their applicable orchard scenarios and performance differences to help growers and agricultural machinery distributors make fast equipment selections.

STN-7500 Crawler Orchard Scissor Lift

The STN-7500 is a self-propelled crawler scissor agricultural aerial work platform. It weighs 1150kg and is fitted with a 48V 2.0kW AC drive motor. Its rubber track chassis easily navigates muddy and sloped orchard terrain.

The scissor mechanism only enables vertical lifting. It features an extra-wide working platform, measuring 1220×2500mm at base and expandable up to 1900×2500mm, with a rated load of 250kg and maximum platform height of 2615mm. The large platform accommodates operators plus multiple harvest bins to support multi-person collaborative work.

Advantages: Spacious platform, heavy load capacity, simple joystick controls. Compact body to travel along tree rows, ideal for fruit harvesting and winter bulk pruning in standardized dwarf orchards.

Limitations: No horizontal outreach. It can only service canopy points directly above the machine and cannot cross tree branches, limiting access to remote outer canopy positions.

STN-6000 Crawler Agricultural Telescopic Boom Lift

The STN-6000 is a crawler agricultural telescopic boom aerial work platform. Weighing 950kg, it uses a 48V 1.5kW AC motor for zero-emission fully electric operation with joystick control. Its maximum lifting height reaches 3150mm, with a rated platform load of 100kg.

The telescopic boom combines vertical lifting and horizontal outreach. It stretches over tree branches to reach outer canopy working points. The lightweight compact body performs excellently in old orchards with uneven row spacing and tall fruit trees, built specifically for high pruning, pest inspection and high-branch harvesting.

Advantages: Extendable boom to work without driving the machine under trees. Great passability on sloped farmland, lightweight structure and low-carbon electric design with no exhaust fumes inside orchards.

Limitations: Small platform size and limited load capacity for single-person operation only, not suitable for mass harvesting with fruit bins.

By working task: If your orchard focuses on bulk harvesting and large-scale uniform pruning, choose the STN-7500 crawler scissor lift. Its wide platform and 250kg high load capacity make it easy to place harvest containers and boost picking efficiency with multiple workers. For mature orchards with tall trees where your main tasks are outer canopy pruning and high-altitude disease inspection, pick the STN-6000 crawler telescopic boom lift. The extendable boom crosses branches to reach hard-to-access canopy outer areas that scissor lifts cannot cover.By field conditions: Both models use rubber crawler tracks to handle slopes and muddy ground after rain, avoiding wheel-type equipment getting stuck. The heavier STN-7500 with higher load is suited to well-managed, wider-row standardized orchards. The lighter STN-6000 works better in narrow, irregular mountain old orchards.

Both machines run on pure electric crawler drive with low noise and no exhaust, meeting low-carbon orchard management standards and supporting long-hour work inside tree canopies.Orchard mechanization keeps advancing worldwide. Overseas mountain orchard buyers are sending more inquiries for crawler orchard aerial equipment each year. Traditional wheeled lifts easily slip and bog down on rainy sloped orchards, while ladders bring high fall risks. Crawler orchard aerial platforms are becoming the preferred replacement solution.

Many buyers confuse crawler scissor lifts and telescopic boom lifts. Scissor models focus on large-area, heavy-load harvesting. Telescopic boom units specialize in cross-branch high pruning. They do not replace one another. Many large orchards purchase both models together to cover all-year orchard maintenance workflows.
