Focus On Green Coating Upgrading Of Shipbuilding, Junjin Aerial Work Platforms Empower Green & Efficient Shipyard Construction.

China Shipbuilding Industry Association recently issued a notice that the 2nd Symposium on Ship Green Coating and Surface Treatment Technology will be held in Guangzhou from June 24 to 26, 2026. Centered on the core theme of "Green Low Carbon & Technological Innovation", this conference focuses on key industry topics including hull surface rust removal, VOCs emission control, waste gas treatment and innovation of green coating equipment, promoting the upgrading of environmental protection processes throughout the whole shipbuilding workflow, which also defines the green and specialized development direction for aerial working equipment in shipyards.

Ship coating, outer wall rust removal and surface anti-corrosion treatment are core aerial working procedures of shipbuilding. The traditional scaffold construction mode not only features long erection cycles and high labor costs, but also causes paint loss and dust diffusion during open-air construction, failing to meet the new environmental protection standards for green coating and precise waste gas control. Against the backdrop of low-carbon transformation of the whole industry, special boom-type aerial working equipment with integrated environmental protection, safety and efficiency advantages has become an urgent upgrading demand for major shipyards.

To satisfy full-process working demands of ship coating and surface treatment, Junjin deeply engages in the track of shipyard-specific aerial equipment, developing two matching series of straight boom and articulating boom models to fully meet green coating construction requirements.

Straight boom aerial work platforms feature ultra-long horizontal outreach, capable of finishing large-area hull outer wall rust removal and overall spraying in one go, cutting down paint waste and dust diffusion caused by frequent equipment relocation. The whole machine can be equipped with zero-emission pure electric power without exhaust pollution, suitable for coating construction in enclosed blocks and cabin interiors, complying with VOCs waste gas control requirements.

The multi-joint folding boom of articulating boom aerial work trucks can flexibly bypass hull steel structures and deck supports, conducting local rust removal and repair coating in interlayers and narrow block zones. It precisely controls spraying range and reduces paint consumption, assisting shipyards in implementing refined management of green coating.

Both models adopt heavy-duty anti-corrosion sealed structure for the whole machine to resist corrosion from salt fog and paint mist in coating workshops. Custom explosion-proof electric versions can meet explosion-proof construction specifications for fuel tanks and enclosed cabins, conforming to CCS China Classification Society safety standards. A single machine only needs one operator, able to replace multiple scaffold teams, greatly shortening the preparation period of aerial tooling before coating, and simultaneously delivering three major values: labor reduction, loss reduction and pollution control.

This industry technical symposium gathers leading shipyards including CSSC, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and China Merchants Heavy Industry as well as industrial chain supporting enterprises to jointly discuss new technologies and new equipment for green coating. Junjin will follow the green and intelligent development plan of the shipbuilding industry, continuously optimize shipyard-specific articulating and straight boom aerial work platforms, supply safe and low-carbon mechanized aerial solutions for full-process ship surface treatment and green coating, and help China's shipbuilding industry lift its core green competitiveness.
