Shipbuilding Industry Booms, Junjin Aerial Work Platforms Support Efficient & Safe Shipyard Production.

Authoritative data released by China Shipbuilding Industry Association for Q1 2026 signals a high-speed growth period for China's shipbuilding industry, accompanied by a sharp surge in industry demand for aerial mechanization upgrading. Statistics show that China's completed ship tonnage reached 15.68 million deadweight tons in the first quarter, a year-on-year jump of 46.0%; newly received orders hit 59.53 million deadweight tons, with a year-on-year increase as high as 195.2%; total hand-held orders stood at 322.30 million deadweight tons, rising 43.6% year-on-year.

In terms of global market share, China's completed tonnage, newly received orders and hand-held orders accounted for 57.3%, 84.9% and 69.8% of the global total respectively in the first quarter, firmly securing its position as the world's top shipbuilding nation. Ship exports delivered outstanding performance, with exported vessels making up 96.1% of China's total completed ship tonnage. Ship export value reached USD 14.92 billion in Q1, and order production capacity of overseas shipyards and large domestic shipyards continues to be released.

With mass construction of LNG carriers and methanol dual-fuel green ships kicking off, the volume of aerial working procedures including hull curved surface flaw detection, upper steel structure welding, hull outer wall anti-corrosion treatment and interlayer pipeline maintenance has risen sharply. Traditional scaffold erection takes long hours, labor costs climb year by year, and there exist multiple pain points such as explosion-proof risks, blind construction zones and dock period delays, which fail to match the current high-speed delivery rhythm of the shipbuilding industry.

Targeting special working conditions of shipyards including salt-fog humid environment, explosion-proof construction and span-crossing obstacle avoidance, Junjin has launched two core models of shipyard-specific straight boom and articulating boom aerial work platforms to meet demands of various shipbuilding scenarios.

Straight boom aerial work platforms feature ultra-high working height and long horizontal outreach, with a maximum horizontal extension distance of 20 meters and strong load capacity. They are specially built for construction on narrow side hulls, ultra-high superstructures and outward flared stern areas of super-large LNG ships and container vessels. They can cover large hull areas in one operation, greatly reduce equipment relocation frequency and effectively shorten the construction period of aerial operations.

Articulating boom aerial work platforms adopt multi-joint folding boom design, which can flexibly bypass obstacles such as hull steel frames and deck columns. The compact body boasts a small turning radius, suitable for maintenance work in block workshops, ship interlayers and dense pipeline zones of small inland fuel ships, solving the industry-wide problem that scaffolds cannot access blocked working points.

Both models are equipped with heavy-duty anti-corrosion sealed design for the whole machine, adapting to high salt-fog environments in coastal docks. Custom pure electric explosion-proof configurations are available to meet Class 1 explosion-proof construction standards for LNG and methanol fuel tanks, complying with construction safety specifications of CCS China Classification Society. A single machine only requires one operator, capable of replacing a scaffold team of 6 to 8 workers. It eliminates continuous investment in steel pipe consumables, and removes safety hazards such as falling from heights and fires caused by metal friction, helping shipyards balance three core demands: capacity expansion, cost control and safe production.

Currently, domestic and overseas ship orders keep rising steadily. Dock turnover efficiency and green explosion-proof construction capacity have become core competitiveness of shipyards. With customized advantages for segmented working conditions, Junjin shipyard-specific boom-type aerial work platforms empower leading domestic shipbuilding bases and export-oriented overseas shipyards. Following the global ship industry upgrading trend, we provide stable and efficient mechanized solutions for full-process aerial operations of ship construction and maintenance.
